The Misty Isle - Eilean a Cheo

For those who enjoy a more leisurely holiday, staying in one place, Skye  provides the ideal location for the pursuit of such pleasures as walking, hill-climbing, fishing, painting, photography, or observing the varied wildlife which abounds here.

If you travel to Skye by car, the impressive bridge which rises spectacularly between Kyle of Lochalsh and Kyleakin facilitates 24 hour access to the island every day of the year, whatever the weather.
During the season there is a 20 minute ferry crossing from Mallaig to Armadale. This is not a 24 hour service and advance booking is advisable.

Ferry services can be subject to disruption or cancellation during severe weather conditions, so it is always wise to check sailings beforehand if in doubt.
