Looking out from the Shieling to Duncraig Castle
The previous house on the site, (Johns birthplace!) was built by Johns father just after World war 2 and the present low narrow house was built 21 years ago to resemble it as closely as possible.
It stands on a peninsula jutting out into the loch. One side of the Shieling faces the picturesque conservation village of Plockton while the other reaches down to the water.
The house is just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre along
a footpath on top of a narrow causeway.
